Bamboo tea scoop used with matcha. This spoon has broader base to hold
tea (as compared to the regular bamboo tea scoop). One scoop yields
roughly one teaspoon, perfect for one serving of matcha tea.
In Japan, this tea scoop is called "chashaku for mizuya." Meaning, in
the context of the tea ceremony, it would be used in the outdoors or in
a preparation room (not in the tea room itself).
Compare Matcha Spoons

From left to right: Modern Tea Scoop, Traditional Bamboo Tea Scoop and
Bamboo Tea Scoop - Broad. All three spoons are suitable for use
with matcha tea powder. The broad scoop, is shorter and yields a
slightly larger serving than the other two. These utensils make
great accessories for salt cellars.
