I love my morning matcha... after lunch! With a small piece of quality dark chocolate it is the perfect dessert and pick me up. Because I'm sensitive to caffeine I use less tea than directed and more water. Experiment for yourself to find what works for you. I introduced Matcha tea to my husband, and he can't live without it now!

Don't Get Between Me and My Morning Matcha! April 5, 2012

Ordinary bagged green tea is nice, but it simply flavors the water as the bag seeps. There are still many health benefits to derive from drinking green tea this way as it's been done for centuries, but once you try matcha, you'll never go back!

Matcha green tea is a powder comprised of the pulverized green tea leaves. Rather than just flavoring the water, the actual leaves are suspended in the water and flow with all their goodness into you! One glass of matcha is the equivalent of 10 glasses of green tea in terms of its nutritional value and antioxidant content. And it tastes SO GOOD.

Matcha is higher in antioxidants than blueberries and spinach, as well as rich in cleansing chlorophyll and catechins. Matcha is also particularly high in EGCG, the antioxidant which helps prevent the body's cells from becoming damaged and prematurely aged.

I love my morning matcha and have for years. LOVE my bi-monthly auto-ship package which delievers just the right amount to get me through.

Pick one of the hand made tea bowls from the shelf. Warm it. Heat up the steaming wand on the espresso machine. Get 2-3 ounces of unsweetened coconut milk (refrigerated carton not can) and begin steaming in a small pitcher or cup. Add 4-5 drops stevia extract. When hot, set aside.

Sift 3 ample measures of Morning Matcha (chashaku bamboo scoops) into the bowl. Add 170 degree water, about 2 ounces. Whisk using bamboo chasen. Notice posture, any added tension, any slackness or disconnection. Feel the bright green crema build and pull on the whisk tines. Slowly finish by reducing large bubbles. Receive the vivid green amazing event with open awareness. Rinse chasen.

Pour the hot coconut milk into the frothy matcha. Enjoy the radiant white and green. Note the warm bowl in the hands. Bring to face and smell the wonder. Sip. Yum.

My wife and I start our mornings drinking matcha everyday.  Every morning when I get up I start the tea water and sift the matcha. Then I serve it to her in bed as a wake up call.  Not on;y do we get all our antioxidants everyday but it is a great way for a couple to start their day together.

Amazing Matcha April 4, 2012

I have been drinking this every morning for the past three years or so. I absolutely love it! It wakes you up without that jittery feeling that coffee can give. I can only describe it as a "focused alertness". I also feel that it stabilizes my appetite throughout the day. On the rare occasion that I forget to drink it I am noticeably hungrier later in the day.  In addition, I have been able to maintain my current weight for the three years that I have been drinking it (in the past I had trouble with weight gain) and I do not diet.  It helps to curb sugar cravings in a big way! Also, over time you will notice improvements in your skin as well. I really cannot give enough praise for this product. I feel that it is good for your entire body; inside and out. I highly recommend trying it for a month. Chances are it will become a permanent staple in your diet.

A wonderful way to start the morning or get a leg up on the afternoon -- refreshing, but supportive.  Leaves you serene but awake.
